The Butlers, out of Philadelphia, PA, are an R&B group comprised of John H. Fitch Jr., Joseph Jerome Collins, and Talmadge G. Conway. They have released 3 previous projects - "Lovable Girl/When I Grow Older", "Sun’s Message/She Tried To Kiss Me","Laugh, Laugh, Laugh/The Butler’s Theme" and are set to release the "Please Forgive Me" (LP) early 2022.
Talmadge Conway is a writer, arranger, producer, keyboardist, and vocalist, inspired by Ray Charles, Billy Eckstein, The Temptations, Nat King Cole. He entered the music industry with the dream of becoming famous and gaining access to large sums of money and women, but now that he has matured he would like to say something positive that will last for decades.
Talmadge Conway has 4 gold albums and one triple platinum album from Barry Manilow.
John Fitch is a writer, arranger, producer, guitarist, and vocalist, inspired by Curtis Mayfield, Flamingos, Jimi Hendrix, and Frankie Lymon. He was heavily influenced by music and pursued music to become famous and make a living.
John Fitch wrote “Shame” for Evelyn Champagne King and received a platinum plaque from RCA and also has other gold album credits.
Joe Collins is a writer, bassist, and vocalist, inspired by James Brown, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles. He loved listening to the radio as a child. His mother was a songwriter and watching her collect publishing checks inspired him to become a musician.
The Butlers used to rehearse at an acting manager’s home. Charlie Earland discovered them performing at Ogontz Theatre in Philly. They recorded their first single at Media Sound Studio, downtown Manhattan. They were in Studio B and Phil Spector was producing the Ronnettes in Studio A. They have also recorded at The State Theater in Philly with Bobby Lewis, Gary US Bonds, The Skyliners, Pookie Hudson, and Dreamlovers, where Jocko Henderson was the show host for the evening.
The Butlers have worked with Chubby Checker, The Orlons, DD Sharp, John Zacherle, and recently performed at the 2021 Welcome America Philadelphia at City Hall sponsored by WAWA of America.
